WHAT IF I DISAGREE WITH INFORMATION YOU REPORTED TO MY CREDIT REPORT?
If you have questions regarding what was reported on your credit report, you may contact your local branch or our home office at 984-200-3768. You may file a dispute with the credit reporting agency that you have a discrepancy. We report to these 3 credit reporting agencies:

HOW DO I OBTAIN MY PAYOFF INFORMATION?
Go to My Account Center at the top of the website page. This is your account center where you will need to create a user name and login. You may inquire regarding your balance, amount due, payoff amount, payment history and make changes to your address, phone number or email address.
DO I NEED TO NOTIFY NORTH STATE IF I SWITCH AUTO INSURANCE COMPANIES?
Yes, you must let North State know that you have switched to a different insurance company. Be sure to list North State Acceptance as a lienholder so we are notified and receive a copy of the policy. Failure to maintain full coverage insurance is a breach of contract. Please refer to your contract for more information on your responsibility to maintain full coverage insurance. We will notify you via mail should we receive a notice from your insurance company that your coverage has been cancelled or about to cancel.
WHAT CREDIT SCORE DO YOU REQUIRE TO APPROVE A LOAN?
Your credit score is not the only factor we review when considering an offer of credit or assignment of a retail installment sales contract.
WHEN IS MY PAYMENT CONSIDERED LATE?
Your payment is considered late the day after the due date. We charge late fees as allowed by state law. Please refer to your contract for those amounts. You may also contact your local branch listed under the “locations” tab. Note: Paying later than your due date could result in higher interest charges which may result in a balance due after all payments have been made. Also, not paying your late fees when due may result in a balance due after all payments have been made.
WHEN DO YOU REPORT TO CREDIT REPORTING AGENCIES?
We report to the credit bureau on the first business day of each month. Please allow some time for the credit reporting agency to update your report. We report all information responsibly, accurately and privately as required by the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act).
WHY ISN’T MY NORTH STATE ACCOUNT SHOWING ON MY CREDIT REPORT?
We report to Equifax, Trans Union and Experian. All account information is reported on the 1st business day of the following month. Please give some time for this to be uploaded by the credit reporting agency. If the trade line for North State still isn’t reporting please contact your local branch listed under the “Locations” tab so that we may investigate.
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE A PAID OFF ACCOUNT REFLECTED ON MY CREDIT REPORT?
We report to the Credit Reporting Agencies on the first business day of each month. Transactions such as payments and payoffs will be updated on your credit report during the next month. We report all information responsibly, accurately and privately as required by the FCRA (Fair Credit Reporting Act).
WHAT IF I AM A VICTIM OF IDENTITY THEFT?
You may write us at the local branch (address listed under the ”locations” tab) or file a complaint by navigating to “Contact Us” on our home page and click “To register a complaint, please click here. You may also file a dispute with the credit bureau reporting agency that is reporting the trade line that is fraudulent listed below. You may also put a freeze on your credit report. You will need to file a report with the Federal Trade Commission or file a police report to accompany your dispute. We will respond with a letter letting you know next steps. A final letter will be sent to you after we complete a thorough investigation.
HOW DO I PROTECT MYSELF FROM SCAMS
Scammers often try to trick consumers by pretending to be employees of financial companies like North State Acceptance and try to acquire personal information or offer you a service. Be aware that:
- We will never email you to collect your account number, credit card information, Social Security number or any other personal information;
- We will never ask you to download software in an email;
- We will never call or email you to confirm or change a password;
- We will never call or email you and to ask for an advance fee in exchange for a loan or payment plan
